Two printed circuit heat exchangers (PCHEs) with coalescing separation function designed and manufactured by Gas and Oil Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (GOT) for a gas field in the South China Sea of CNOOC were successfully completed on February 6, 2024.

The delivered equipment has a single power of 1000kw and is used for outlet cooling of reciprocating compressors. The heat exchanger selected for this working condition not only needs to withstand a high pressure of 44.5MPa, but also the outlet medium of the compressor contains a large amount of lubricating oil (about 10-20L per day).

We have R&D a new type of coalescing separation microchannel heat exchanger with oil removal function based on special offshore working conditions, while ensuring small footprint, light weight, high pressure resistance, and corrosion resistance. Through cooling and differential separation technology, the two phases of the medium are separated and discharged separately, successfully avoiding flow channel blockage caused by capillary phenomenon. Made significant contributions to the localization of key equipment in China's marine engineering projects.

The original lead time for this project was six months, but in order to comply with the client's schedule adjustment, all employees of GOTCO worked overtime. With the verification of DNV, we passed the hydraulic test and helium leak test in one go. In just two and a half months, we successfully completed the task, helping the client greatly reduce project costs and schedule pressure.
